Prenatal Breastfeeding Class
When: Tuesday January 28th, 2025 7:15pm-8:45pm (see below for more dates)
Who: Anyone who would like to gather more information about breast/chest feeding a baby in the future. Recommended timing is late 2nd trimester-late 3rd trimester, but anyone is welcome. Partners/support people are encouraged!
In this class, you’ll learn:
- How to establish a strong connection with your baby right from the start
- The importance of skin-to-skin contact in initiating breastfeeding
- How breastmilk is produced and how to maintain a healthy milk supply
- The basics of expressing breastmilk
- What ‘normal’ newborn breastfeeding behavior looks like
- Proper latching and positioning techniques
- How to ensure your baby’s tummy is full and they’re happy
- The crucial role of partners in supporting breastfeeding
- How to navigate challenges like jaundice, weight loss, and low blood sugar
- Where to find additional support and resources
- Time to ask questions and get expert answers!
Cost: $75+Hst for an individual or $115+Hst to attend with a support person (husband, partner, mom, sister, etc)
