Who: Anyone interested in gaining more knowledge about breastfeeding support and chest feeding a baby in the future is welcome to attend. The ideal timing for this session is late 2nd trimester to late 3rd trimester, but everyone is encouraged to join. Partners and support individuals are highly welcomed!
In this infant feeding class, you’ll learn:
- How to establish a strong connection with your baby from the beginning
- The importance of skin-to-skin contact in initiating breastfeeding
- How breastmilk is produced and how to maintain a healthy milk supply
- The basics of expressing breastmilk
- What ‘normal’ newborn breastfeeding behavior looks like
- Proper latching and positioning techniques
- How to ensure your baby’s tummy is full and happy
- The critical role of partners in supporting breastfeeding
- How to navigate challenges like jaundice, weight loss, and low blood sugar
- Where to find additional support and resources
- Time to ask questions and receive expert answers!
Cost: $75+HST for an individual or $115+HST to attend with a support person (husband, partner, mom, sister, etc.)
